For sale is Flora Purim's Open Your Eyes You Can Fly, originally released in 1976 by Milestone Records. In the dead wax between the label and the last track is stamped "KENDUN" followed by the matrix numbers 1-C/1-C. This signifies that it was mastered at Kendun Recorders, California and an early stamper for used for this first pressing. These are all hallmarks of excellent sound quality. I bought this new and played it carefully on a reference quality turntable and cartridge. One of the first things I do with a new purchase is that I immediately put the album into a protective inner sleeve like a MFSL or its equivalent. The inner sleeve is Excellent with a bent corner. The cover is graded Excellent because of some minor corner blunts and stress cracks around the spine, resulting in some color loss. The spine is Excellent with an 1/8" spot of color loss in the middle and some at the corners. The vinyl is Near Mint. This is the best copy of this album that I have ever seen or heard. Finding Flora's original Milestone Records has become very hard and you will be hard pressed to find one this great. I have more jazz albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
