This auction is for a copy of the Original Cast Recording LP from the revival of Flora The Red Menace at Vineyard Theatre. It has been signed by composer John Kander.

Flora The Red Menace was the first collaboration between Liza Minnelli and the songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb - the same team who joined Bob Fosse for the recently revived tv special Liza With A Z.

Speaking of revivals, in 1987 the Vineyard Theatre presented the first New York Revival of this classic show starring Veanne Cox, Peter Frechette and Eddie Korbich. This was also the New York debut of Susan Stroman as a choreographer with Scott Ellis directing.

For this 1987 critically acclaimed production, David Thompson reworked the book, originally adapted by George Abbott and Robert Russell - and Kander and Ebb deleted three, and wrote three, new songs.

Finally, some trivia for the Kander and Ebb buffs out there â€“ John Kander plays the piano on this recording.
