Description

The Flying Burrito Bros: "The Gilded Palace Of Sin"  (A&M SP4175)

1st US Pressing (tan colored labels). 

A terrific copy of this classic DEBUT Flying Burrito Bros LP, released in 1969, nearly 50 years ago !  Surely the most prized of all the commercially released Burrito Bros records.  A real gem, featuring wonderful songs, well recorded, with excellent detailed sonics on this the original wax.

This debut Burrito Bros LP features former Byrds members Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman ... and Sneaky Pete Kleinow, who later played with The New Riders Of The Purple Sage, The Jerry Garcia Band and many others.  (Interesting tidbit:  On this LP jacket, Kleinow's nickname is misspelled as "Sneeky".)

 

Vinyl:  VG+  (play graded)

       High gloss on both sides.

       Surface marks are apparent and audible between some tracks but do not impact sound quality on this well recorded LP, with the exception of Track 1 on Side 1.  During Track 1 on Side 1, one can hear approximately a dozen faint "pops" or "clicks".  However, the balance of Side 1 and all of Side 2 sound terrific, with only faint surface noise detectable between tracks but not during the songs.

       Labels are clean and bright.  Trivial spindle marks.   (see photos)


Jacket:  VG++

       Clean, rich in color.  Very faint ring wear on close study.      

       Modest seam wear but no seam splits.   

       No writing, stickers or stamps.        (see photos)

       Comes with original inner sleeve in excellent condition.


A beautiful first pressing of this classic debut LP from The Flying Burrito Bros, nearly 50 years on the shelf !   I hope it goes to a loving home.
