Description:
This listing is for as a 9.5" 33 rpm record titled "Folksongs and Ballads of Virginia" sung by a well-known folklorist and singer, Paul Clayton. This artist's song selections for this album include: Railroad Bill, In the Pines, Gambling Man, Wild Rover, Bill Dooley, Talt Hall, The Farmer's Curst Wife, Harvey Logan, Lady Margaret, Frankie, If I Had a Bottle of Rum, Lord Darnell, Poor Old Maids and The Little Pig.
This record was produced by Folkways Records and Service Corp., New York, NY, 1956. This is a First Edition.
Album cover does show some wear and dings from use and storage. The inside cover shows the remains of an old library card holder. The front of the booklet has a number stamped 8701, which has been covered over by more orange grease pencil. The number "60" is written in orange grease pencil on the back outside cover. The Record is in very good condition with the only condition issue being orange grease pencil writing covering something originally stamped on record album. I do not have a turntable to play the record, so evaluation is based on a visual inspection.
