Fontana 6309 006: GRAHAM COLLIER MUSIC 'Songs For My Father'
UK jazz rarity from 1970, the third album by this bass-player/composer who established himself as one of the leading lights of UK jazz during the late-60's/ear;ly 70's. Here the group particularly features Harry Beckett (tp/fl-h), Derek Wadsworth (tb), Alan Skidmore/Alan Wakeman/Tony Roberts/Bob Sydor (reeds), John Taylor (p), Philip Lee (g), Collier (b) and Chick Webb (d). It was recorded at sessions during January/February 1970. This is an UK 1st Fontana stereo pressing with black/silver label. There was no mono pressing of this issue.

CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is E+ (VG++) with some very light scratches only, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The cover is E (VG+), with minor surface scratching/rubbing/shadowing and some very slight corner damage. There is a small amount of slight residue from a sticky label in the top left hand corner of the front. Also, there is some surface creasing particularly around the top left hand corner of the front and the bottom right hand corner of the back.
