Description
This is an original sealed mint first pressing of the LP by Fords Theatre, Trilogy for the Masses, which was the first of two LPS released by group in 1968 on ABC Records. Ty my knowledge this title was never released in a subsequent pressing. Also. the vinyl used by ABC records in the 1960's was much thicker and heavier than that used in the 1970s and this package is quite heavy. This is a very rare LP with open near mint copies having a book value of $75.
Ford Theatre was one of the most promising bands of the 60's that influenced by the bands such as The Kingsmen, The Beatles and The Byrds, although they recorded only 2 albums, both under the ABC Records label. The band's first album Trilogy for the Masses was produced by Bob Thiele in 1968. The album's band tracks were done at Fleetwood Studios in Revere, Massachusetts and the vocals were at Capitol Studios in New York City. And a year later their second album Time Changes was produced by Bill Szymczyk who later went on to produce The Eagles The second album was done at the Hit Factory in New York City
The LP is sealed completely with the exception of about 2 inches open in the middle of the mouth and slightly torn shrink at the top middle of front cover but with no wear evident. All of the corners of the cover are very slightly worn. The top and bottom seams are strong with no wear or splits. The spine is strong with no splits and the product information clearly readable. of about an inch or so in the middle of the spine where shrink opened. Overall cover is in excellent condition.
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the LP is returned still sealed.
Shipping via media mail is $4 per LP including tracking and usually will be done within 24 hours of receipt of payment. If you bid on and win more than one item shipping for multiple purchases will be adjusted. If you win more than one item do not pay until I have had the opportunity to issue new combined item invoice to reflect the lower shipping cost.
