Description
Fortune 844 by Earl Chatman: Take Two Steps Back b/w Loving You Baby. VERY rare Fortune 45. Guitarist Earl Chatman's only known record. This guy is a deceptively good player. Plays both rhythm and lead using dramatic, choked rhythm chords, with a nasty, dirty tone on his leads. Piano, bass and drums are very together and in the pocket backing him. Raw vocals and a guitar sound that would cut through the noise and revelry of the drinking crowd in a local tavern. Lots of mystery regarding this 45. Labels and vinyl are clean and bright. Labels have push marks. Vinyl has light scuffs, very fine hairlines, traces of juke marks around the inner run off grooves on Take Two Steps Back. Loving You Baby side is a little cleaner, no juke marks, less scuffs. Grade strong VG/VG+. Plays great, loud, and nasty. Please listen to the sound clips.
