The item for sale:
- 4 collectible Bessie Smith ** vinyl records - 7 inch 33.
Bessie Smith series Vol 1, 2, 3 and 5 - Empress of the Blues.
Swaggie Jazz Collector Series, 33.
Songs include - "I"m wild about that thing", "Outside of that" and "Soft Pedal Blues".
These records are an Australian Press from Swaggie Jazz Collector Series which were in operation from 1949 to 1952.

Bessie Smith (April 15, 1894 – September 26, 1937) was an American blues singer widely renowned during the Jazz Age. Nicknamed the "Empress of the Blues", she was the most popular female blues singer of the 1920s and 1930s. She is often regarded as one of the greatest singers of her era and was a major influence on fellow blues singers, as well as jazz vocalists.
Please note these records have been donated from sources who have advised that the records are obviously an old collection, used to be played but have not been for a while. Cover torn and worn. They have not been played by us.
