The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette is a psychedelic concept album in keeping with the changing times of the late 1960’s the Four Seasons ditched the love songs for songs about war and racial tension.
One reviewer at the time said the album is a “bizarre concept album that casts a satirical eye on American life". He calls it "relentlessly inventive, skillfully constructed and never dull" and "a stunning example of the artistry of the Four Seasons at their most ambitious."
Apparently it was one of John Lennons favourite albums.
The copy for auction here is the elaborately packaged U.S release and is 100% complete.

The album's packaging is very distinctive with the cover being a thick card newspaper gatefold sleeve with an attached centre printed panel card. Also included is its original 8 page newspaper insert containing amongst other things an underground comic strip.
Has its original U.S inner sleeve.
