Among the rarer of this series, the only "Frame" album exhibits some of the best characteristics of the Deutche-rock of this short-lived era. Nice organ work along with super-harmonic lead guitar work makes me think a bit of the "supergroup" of the day, Flash, or maybe some of the "softer side" of Atomic Rooster.
Not too many have probably heard this album as I remember my manager only had 2 of these (whereas the contemporaneous Nektar, "Tab in the Ocean", another really great album, I got a hundred or so!!)
Cosmic Guide lists the album in Mint at 180euros, or around USD$217.00, but I have set a low reserve in the hopes more will be able to bid on this gem of German Rock-lore.
This album was fairly well recorded for 1972 and does sound fine, however PLEASE remember that the recording equipment of the day did not include digital noise reduction or hard disk recorders! The music sounds great, a very "au naturel" production with few effects.The English vocals come across well, there are spots where the tape saturation shows, definitely "full fidelity" of the day!
As so much the story, I don't think they made another album and went the way of most "creative artists", it is a shame though, because they were definitely better than average players, and with more material, those great vocals may have been more widely enjoyed! C'est la vie, here is your opportunity to have "Frame of Mind" for yourself!
