Description
Nice rare record signed by everyone in the group. Belinda Carlisle, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock, Jane Wiedlin, and Charlotte Caffey. These Remastered Albums were sold during the GOGOs Ladies Gone Wild Tour in 2011. This one has been preserved in a frame. I took it out to photograph the contents and the record to show how clean the album cover sleeve and record are. There is a bit of wrinkling on the inner paper sleeve. I just noticed there is a small hair on one side of my angled picture of side 1. That isn't a defect, probably from one of my dogs. I would take another picture, but I'd rather not take it our of the frame and sleeve again.
Beauty and the Beat was the Go-Go’s debut album, released in 1981 by I.R.S. Records. The album hit #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, and was the first album to top the chart by an all-female band that wrote and performed its own songs. The album’s singles, “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got The Beat,” also charted in several countries, fueling album sales of more than two million in the U.S. alone. Beauty and the Beat is considered one of the decade’s defining albums and it is on Rolling Stone’s list of the ‘500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.’
The Go-Go’s hit the road in the summer of 2011 on their Ladies Gone Wild tour, a US tour with the legendary Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Jane Wiedlin and Kathy Valentine. The tour included a Los Angeles homecoming show at the Greek Theater on August 17, Belinda’s birthday. An exclusive VIP package was available in most tour markets for fans to meet the band and purchase limited edition merchandise such as this Autographed LP. In August 2011, the Go-Go’s received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
