Description

An original and genuine 1st press of HOT RATS on Reprise UK Steamboat from 1969. Matrix A1/B1. These early copies were pressed heavy and were not around long before Reprise did a full label re-design. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have a generic white company inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen light use. Very nice lustre still exhibiting with a couple of very superficial trail marks - absolutely nothing to worry about. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens super quiet and the audio comes across with super clarity. Haven't heard a better copy - period. This one is acing it across the board. Super quality clean signalled audio. Even into the super fussy percussive "Camel". 'Lovin' it! Plays clean into the quieter segments. Little to take issue. A banger through and through. Witness two of the sixties giants on the one LP! Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) Finding the original 1st issue in great condition is not all that easy a task. 50 years of grubby mitts will usually put an end to any hope of a clean copy - but this example is in very rude health. Those white sectors are literally asking for trouble. Either ageing, or general grubbiness will exhibit...but not here! Lovely white clean sectors - only very slightest hint of ageing at extremities. Front and rear are clear of the surface wear you typically find on nearly all copies. A crease on the rear - top left. The interior = superb..no ageing. Very minor edge wear. Clean firm openings. The spine is way better than yo tend to find. All text fully legible and there's hardly any wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
