Description
Up for sale today are two US release Vinyl LPs from Frank Zappa:
We're only in it for the money - Verve Records - Stereo V6-5045. US release 1967
This is the album that parodied the Beatles Sgt. Pepper sleeve which had to be reversed for fear of lawsuits apparently. The music is one of Frank's best in my opinion - see elsewhere for reviews or judge for yourself by listening on YouTube.
The outer sleeve is quite rare in that most US copies for sale on ebay have been either drill holed or imprinted to show they were remaindered. This one has not been damaged in this way and is still fully intact and in overall good condition - but see second scan which shows some surface marking at the top of the front cover.
Cardboard cutout insert is in good condition - again a brilliant parody of the Sgt. Pepper cutouts.
Vinyl is in excellent condition and has only been seldom played, sounds very slightly crackly which is probably dust, but absolutely no scratches or surface marks I can see.
Zapped - Bizarre Records - Stereo PRO 368. US release 1969
This is an LP showcasing Zappa's music plus some tracks by other artistes (Beefheart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Buckley, Wild Man Fischer amongst others) issued on his Bizarre record label (see scan for track listing). Available by mail order in the States only and it must have sold reasonably well for a mail order sampler as this is one of two different cover sleeves that I have come across so it must have been re-issued (don't know if this is the original - sorry!). The overall quality is not as good as the Money LP as follows: Some damage to the outer sleeve and the vinyl although not scratched does sound pretty crackly throughout.
Both LPs will be carefully packaged and sent in a proper record mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
