Description
The Mothers Of Invention - Freak Out - US Original STEREO Double LP from 1966 on Verve Records V6/5005-2. This is the 1st issue of this LP with the "Hot-spots Freak Map" credit inside the gatefold (bottom right).
Gatefold sleeve in VG/VG+ condition with edge, ring and general wear. The front and back tops of the gatefold have had seam splits (about 11cm) but they have neatly been mended. Includes original custom Verve inner sleeves.
Both records are clean and glossy. Sides 1,2 and 4 are around EX condition with a few light surface marks. Side 3 is EX-/EX with a few light surface marks and a slightly feelable mark at the beginning of the last track although it doesn't appear to sound. I have listened to this LP all the way through on my Linn LP12 deck and it plays VERY WELL with little in the way of imperfections apart from occasional light surface noise in the quieter passages and the occasional tick/pop.
Please note when buying records: Any record that is over thirty years old, regardless of the condition, will display some degree of surface noise and have occasional ticks and pops because of dirt in the grooves and the contact of the needle with the vinyl. If you want complete background silence with your music then please buy the CD! Also, bear in mind that the record might not play exactly the same on a different turntable.
