Just Another Band From LA fue grabado en vivo en Pauley Pavillion, UCLA (Los Angeles), el 7 de agosto de 1971. Lanzado a principios de 1972, es el último álbum que documenta la alineación de Mothers of Invention que incluía a los cantantes Mark Volman y Howard Kaylan (también conocido como Flo y Eddie). (Los otros miembros de la banda en esta grabación en particular son: Ian Underwood, Aynsley Dunbar, Don Preston y Jim Pons.)
este ALBUN tiene una calidad de sonido mucho mejor que Fillmore East, en junio de 1971.
