IMPORTANT: I DO NOT accept PayPal nor personal checks. PayPal is a long, chequered story and personal checks require monitoring time which I don't have at the moment. I only accept Money Order/Cashier's Check as payment. Contact me within three (3) days from the end of this auction to work out payment info. I'm a working stiff with a full-time job, so this type of payment is the easiest and quickest to deal with.
I also am limiting this auction to shipment within the U.S. I am in the process of moving into a house, and for ease of selling these items on my end, all auctions are limited to within the U.S. NO exceptions. Sorry if this sounds snobbish, but NO, I repeat, NO international shipments.
Shipping cost is $20.00 for Priority Mail shipping or $7.00 for Media Mail shipping (postage and packaging stuff) on this LP box set. If Media Mail is chosen for shipping, then Delivery Confirmation (tracking number) and/or Insurance must be attached. Shipping can be combined for winning bids within the LP auctions only (these combinations will be calculated by total weight of items won). I'll be listing Laserdiscs and 45's in the coming weeks and they both will be considered their own set of auctions (for shipping and packaging purposes).
Upon winning an auction, please enclose a print-out or hand-written note describing the item(s) you've won along with your payment.
Please check out the other items I currently have up for auction. Thanks!!
NOW..........on to the description....................
This is Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention THE OLD MASTERS, BOX TWO 9-LP (8 titles) set on Barking Pumpkin Records from 1986. It was originally ordered by me from Zappa's own Barfko-Swill mail order store when it originally came out (while Frank was still with us). This set includes their sixth through twelfth albums (UNCLE MEAT, HOT RATS, BURNT WEENY SANDWICH, WEASELS RIPPED MY FLESH (RZZZZZ!), CHUNGA'S REVENGE, FILLMORE EAST - JUNE 1971, and JUST ANOTHER BAND FROM L.A.) (it does NOT include 200 MOTELS, presumably because of licensing through United Artists) PLUS the Mystery Disc of rarities. The MYSTERY DISC track listing: Side One: From the Festival Hall Show, London, 1968 1.HARRY, YOU'RE A BEAST 2.DON INTERRUPTS 3.PIECE ONE 4.JIM/ROY, 5.PIECE TWO 6.AGENCY MAN Side Two: 1.AGENCY MAN (Studio Version, Apostolic, NYC, 1967) 2.LECTURE from Festival Hall Show, London, 1968 3.WEDDING DRESS SONG/THE HANDSOME CABIN BOY from the Uncle Meat Sessions, 1967 4.SKWEEZIT, SKWEEZIT, SKWEEZIT from The Ballroom, Hartford, CT 5.THE STORY OF WILLIE THE PIMP with Annie Zannas & Cynthia Dobson, NYC, 1972 6.BLACK BEAUTY from Thee Image, Miami, 1968 7.CHUCHA from Criteria, Miami, 1968 8.MOTHERS AT KPFK 9.HARMONICA FUN.
This set also includes an addition LP-sized jacket, cover painting by Donald "Roller" Wilson, containing repros of the Uncle Meat booklet, a fold-out poster that originally came from BURNT WEENY SANDWICH (I think?!), and another booklet for which I don't recall the album it originally came with.
The outer box is in fine shape except for a crumple on the upper lefthand corner (see photo) which occurred when it was originally shipped to me. There's only minor shelf wear and a few surface scratches on the back. The serial number ZM2-04213 is stamped on the bottom of the back cover of the box. No tears, splits, stains, or peeling on the outer box. The LP jackets and vinyl itself is in NM shape.. The inner box tray holding the albums has a tear in the upper righthand corner about 3/4 the way down (probably happened during my uncountable moves since purchasing this set); otherwise, in fine shape. The repro booklets are also in NM condition. These LP's have only been played a few times, since I already owned all of this material (except, of course, for the Mystery Disc) on their original LP's. It's been well loved by me through the years.
This comes from my personal collection, amassed over the past thirty years. Have fun browsing the other LP's I've got up for auction and Happy Bidding!
