THE MOTHERS OF INVENTION
FREAK OUT!
(US VERVE, V6-5005-2X, 1966)
Beautiful copy of Zappa's groundbreaking debut here! This is an early US Verve STEREO pressing on the beautiful deep blue labels and the 'freak map' blurb on the inside gatefold (see pic), indicating it as a definite early pressing. There are several label variations with the early Verve pressings, and this is one with the wider print. This is still a first pressing, it's believed that labels were pressed up in different locations hence the different font types. Lovely example! Great stuff! This is very hard to find, get it while you can! Don't miss out!

Vinyls are in EX condition : look and sound great overall, play with some light surface noise and both disc have some light marks Gatefold sleeve is in VG+ condition : quite rough around the edges, I have taken a few photos to illustate this - there is some light ring wear on the front and back, the spine looks lovely, both top edges have split at the opening, both splits measuring around 6cm each, both bottom edges have split at the opening, one split measures approx. 6cm and other is unfortunately going across 2/3 of the edge, measuring at approx. 15cm - I am being very strict here, it is not too noticeable!! The back bottom of the sleeve also has a fair amount of wear. It really is a great shame as the images on the sleeve look great and the colour is lovely. The inner gatefold looks great.
