This week's listings will consist of a batch of tough to find LP's.  All the vinyl looks very near unplayed.  The covers did wear over the decades, however.  Be sure to have a look at all the listings.

Have you ever been in the Salvation Army, and you find a copy of some goofy Shelley Berman album on the Verve label, and it's in pristine condition?  If you're like me, you might wonder to yourself, "how come you NEVER find a Zappa record in this condition?!"  Well, you found one.

The vinyl has that oxygen-for-the-soul sheen, for true collectors who have some sort of chemical/soul-activating reaction when they see a rare album in dazzling condition.  And this copy will dazzle you.  It has been very well-cared for.  It looks and sounds practically unplayed.  The vinyl gives off that vinyl "whoosh" as it rotates.  There is MINIMAL static tic throughout the whole program which, as Zappa people know, is important because he is fond of weird, quiet passages and dialogue.  Regardless the fact that Verve didn't use the best vinyl quality since they were a subsidiary label, the album still sounds fantastic.  There is not one slightest needle mark anywhere on either side of the disc.  This album will NOT make the perfect gift for that Zappa fan in your life. It will make you, the serious collector, a final upgrade.  This is NOT a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. It's a stunning copy for a serious collector, and that's not just anyone.  Anyone can have Andy Gibb's "Shadow Dancing" album in their collection anytime they want.  But not anyone can find this album in this condition.

As with the other albums this week, the cover has aged.  The worst of it is the moderate foxing to the top white area on the front cover.  There is also light ringwear to both the left and the right sides of the front cover, but it isn't that bad at all.  The back cover looks very nice.  It shows no wear at all.  There is no ringwear, no dirtwear.  But the back slick has lost a little luster over the years.  Both top seams and both bottom seams are absolutely strong, intact and show not the first sign of splits.  There is some wear to those seams, but less than moderate.  The spine is equally strong and intact, and the text and graphics of the spine are absolutely readable.  The corners have suffered some moderate loss and push.  Not heavy by any definition.

The inner sleeve is for the most part, flat and razor-sharp.  One of the upper corners was creased when the sleeve went in to the cover at the factory.  The sleeve overall, has yellowed some.  None of the three seams are split, or about to split.  A very good, solid company sleeve.

The labels are handsome, bright and completely free from wear, dirt or writing. The blue is dark, rich and royal with absolutely NO issues at all.  The silver is bright and it still shines like fresh paint. There are absolutely NO spindle marks to either label. These labels are as fresh as the day this album was issued.

The album sounds completely new.

There is a machine-stamped 22 in the trail-off of Side 1.
