This week's listings will consist of a batch of tough to find LP's. All the vinyl looks very near unplayed. The covers did wear over the decades, however. Be sure to have a look at all the listings.
The vinyl is the keeper final upgrade you've been looking for. The plastic is completely clean, both sides. Not the presence of the slightest needle mark or the faintest hairline scratch. And the skies are not cloudy all day. The disc looks like it was just brought home from the record store. Still smells new, too. The playback is just as good. Silent and silky playback, with an occasional static tic in the silent grooves between tracks. There are more tics in the trail-in and trail-off grooves, as well as in some of the quieter percussive passages.
The cover is a completely decent copy. As all the covers of the records this week suffered wear to some degree, this one is on the lighter side of wear. But it does have some. The front cover presents very well, with just some light wear to the bottom edge. You have to tilt the cover toward a light source to see it. The back cover has moderate ringwear to the bottom, and moderate shelfwear to the right. The left side has light ringwear. The left panel of the gatefold has light shelfwear and a moderate crease toward the center seam. The right panel has very light ringwear. The center seam is solid, with no tears or breaches of any kind. The two top seams are sturdy and intact. So are the two bottom seams, although there is shelfwear to the bottom ones. All four corners are slightly to moderately frayed. The spine is completely legible, although the top left corner has a push that has crunched the first inch of slick on the spine.
The poster looks amazingly new. It lies perfectly flat with razor-sharp edges. Looks almost just like it did in 1969, when the album was issued. The panel that has "The Mothers O" at the bottom has some very light finger divots as though the previous owner considered unfolding it and then changed his mind. In fact, I would bet that this poster has never been fully opened. I'm certainly not going to open it.
The company inner sleeve lies flat and sharp, and the graphics have not faded in the least. There is a light outdent from the LP having been in it. There is also about a three inch split to one of the side seams.
The labels are bright, bold and beautiful. Each one has very light spindle marks, but nothing bad.
