LARGE MUSIC LIBRARY SET - COUNTRY MUSIC OF ALL GENRES
What a great Estate find! This is a near complete set of The Greatest Country Music Recordings Of All Time, issued by The Franklin Mint Record Society during the early 1980s. As a subscription series, subscribers got a new 2-album package each month until the set was complete at 100 recordings - that's a time span of over 4 years to get all the records. Each month the subscriber would get a new boxed set of two albums following a specific theme or covering a specific artist. The record boxes are made to look like a denim jacket with blue covers trimmed in a leather look spine. Each package contains 2 records in sleeves, a subscriber letter, and a full size fact booklet with photographs, history and other notes on the recordings for the month.
This library is missing only 2 of the original monthly installments, so there are a total of 48 boxed pairs, or 96 records total. Original cost of this library was $1,200.00 at $23.98 per installment.
All records are in excellent condition. Some boxes were never opened out of the outermost cellophane wrap. All appear scratch and abuse free. Note the unusual reddish orange vinyl used for the records. (My photo has reflective light shadows, not any discoloration in the record itself).
I did note that three of the outer boxes have some water damage evident, but the records inside are undamaged. These are numbers 55/56, 81/82, and 89/90. The two missing packages are 53/54 and 87/88. These records can sell for $15 or more EACH on Ebay, so don't miss this chance to get the near complete set at a fraction of the cost for individual packages!
