The 100 Greatest Recordings of all time from the Franklin Mint has been called the ultimate private library of fine recorded music. Every recording was selected by a distinguished panel of music authorities (Martin Bookspan, Schuyler G. Chapin, Franco Ferrara, Irving Kolodin, William Mann, R. Gallois Montbrun, Marcel Prawy, Andre Previn, William Schuman and H. H. Stuckenschmidt).
The library was first announced on the 100th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the phonograph. Each recorded treasure was pressed with a special vinyl formulation that enabled a clear, quiet playing surface on a more rigid LP disk. Every record was pressed in an atmosphere controlled "clean room"
There are 50 library cases. Each library case houses two proof-quality long playing records, with each record resting, fully protected, within its own dust free compartment. The record is firmly supported within the closed compartment in such a way that the grooved playing surface never touches any part of the case. Each library case includes a specially written and illustrated commentary, by a respected music expert. The composers and their works are discussed in detail, and background information is provided on the orchestras, conductors, ensembles, and featured soloists.

Unfortunately I do not have the whole 50 boxes, 100 titles as some were missing during moving house. There are 41 out of 50 Boxes.
Those have a denote of * are the missing sets. Occasionally you will find some are offered for sale here on ebay so it is possible to make it as a complete set.
All the records are in Mint Condition for both Boxes and Records as I bought them for display purpose only. However it is time to let go.
The Red Special formula virgin vinyl is just a joy to look.
After checking on the Net there was a complete set sold for US$2200 but obviously with the missing sets you are certainly getting a bargain here.
Please be reminded that the postage cost will be higher than provided by ebay due to the sheer volume. Please wait for the invoice after winning as I will provide a more accurate cost by a courier.

This is an Audiophile historical recording especially with Hi-End users in mind for reference audition. This is the most sought-after and rare reference recording. Needless to say the sound-stage and imagery are excellent with this record.
May I stress that most countries have their own unique grading system. It appears to me that most Far East buyers are extremely critical and demanding in the condition of the records. As a result, I would strictly base my records on the UK RRPG grading system which is an universal accepted grading system for all records.
We all want to have a prefect copy of the record which has no marks, no tics, no tear, no warp, no air bubble.......and so. However, most used records are of certain age and they have been listened to and played with. It is inevitable that you will see records with superficial marks, occasional tics and imperfect sleeve. Even brand new records I have bought would have scratch, tics and creased sleeves. This is the fun/pain with vinyl world and you need to accept these factors and facts. If you want a clinically clean sound I suggest you should buy a CD instead.
It is therefore, unless I would provide more details if it is not shown on the system, you should be aware that all records I am selling will have characteristics as I explain above. If you do need more information please feel free to ask before committing biding as I have decided that there will be no return policy in the dispute of vinyl condition unless the item is damaged by post and insurance cost paid for. This policy is strictly applied so please be aware.
