Description

Here's the English actor Frazer Hines who played the character of Jamie McCrimmon in over a hundred episodes of the UK TV series Doctor Who.

According to Wikipedia in Frazer's third year on the show in 1968 he released with the Major Minor Records label a novelty record titled Who's Dr. Who. It was a commercial failure. This is that record. I found it tucked amongst my mum's Frank Ifield, Pat Boone and Jim Reeves records on a trip home recently and she happily gave it to me. Hearing this record now it thrills me to the core to think of my dear old mum sitting listening to it even just only once through.

This is a fantastic record, kids. It has the main show theme, screaming rock lead guitar throughout, a recorder, Hammond organ, a singing kids choir and some very bizarre lyrics indeed. You can find it on You Tube and I recommend you hear it immediately.

The record has been played probably only once by my mum and then just a few times by me but is in very good shape. In the few quiet parts of the song it has that egg frying quietly in the next room noise behind the track because it's old but otherwise plays very well indeed. There ain't a DJ in the world wouldn't want to incorporate this into their live set. The thought of it being dance mixed at loud volume fills me with delight.

The b-side to the record is Punch and Judy Man written by producer Tommy Scott. This side has more background noise than the A side. Figures, eh mum?

I have bought and sold vinyl records through the mail for twenty years and know how to ship properly. The record will be taken out of the front cover to prevent those annoying scuff holes in the sides of covers. It will be housed in its original inner sleeve with a plastic sleeve over it and the cover, and with two pieces of card inside. You won't be able to shake the parcel and hear the record move inside. The low starting price is because I need the sale and want to give you the chance to get this collectable record cheaper.

Shipping costs listed on this page do not necessarily reflect actual costs, and may be a requirement of drop-down menus, particularly in regard to international shipping. Buyer will pay actual cost of shipping as quoted to me by postal employee when I take the item to the post office. The item will be shipped as soon as payment reaches my account, which normally takes 2-3 business days.

Thanks for looking. I ship worldwide. International customers:  please contact me for shipping charges.
