           FREDDIE HUBBARD              Hub Tones              Blue Note  BST 84115
Up for auction is a mid-60s Blue Note stereo pressing Freddie Hubbard's fantastic 1962 session for Blue Note, "Hub Tones".  Features a young James Spaulding (fresh from a few year stint with Sun Ra) on Alto and Flute (3 tracks!). Features 4 fairly advanced (melodically & harmonically) Hubbard originals + the standard "You're My Everything" (which kicks off the lp). This lp, the 5th for Hubbard as a leader shows a marked maturity in terms of composition, with the ballad "Lament For Booker", being just a knockout track. This is a fairly influential and fairly underrated lp. A great listen.       DEAD WAX INFO:  Side 1 has BNST 84115 - A  44 all etched into the dead wax. Side 2 has BNST 84115-B  44 all etched into the dead wax. Both sides have VAN GELDER and STEREO stamped into the dead wax. Blue Note stereo crossover repress, circa 1966.   VINYL VISUAL: VG and WAY better with a few light marks (mostly on Side 2) and a tiny bit of paper rash/mottling. Labels show minimal play. A cleaning may improve this grade. Side 1 grades much higher.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: VG+ with EXCELLENT stereo fidelity and a low noise level. Should improve with a good cleaning. Most of the lp plays quite well with some light static throughout.       COVER VISUAL: VG and would be WAY better if not for the hatchet delete job front right corner. REALLY??!! Just a terrible job, resulting even in some loss of catalogue number on rear cover (see pictures). Not very subtle to be sure. Rest of cover is more than decent. 
Comes with OG Blue Note branded printed paper inner of the era (VG condition). The lp is held in an Audiophile style rice plastic inner (inserted into a plain die-cut white paper inner).   DETAILS ON SELLER AND SHIPPING

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item). 
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER).             Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g. 
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST.
