Description
Blue Note BLP 4027 with 47 West 63rd NYC address on both labels, deep groove, mono; 43 West 61st St. address on the bottom of the back cover. The record has the "ear" and "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. Includes Freddie Redd, composer, piano; Jackie McLean, alto sax; Michael Mattos, bass; Larry Ritchie, drums.
Cover: VG(-) to VG Intact. There are 2 tiny tears on the the 1 insert edge corners. This reveals about a 1/2" splits at these corners. The 2 other corners also have some wear but less than the insert edge corners. Slight edge wear on the insert edge with a small tear in the lamination. Small scratch on the front cover. The name of the previous owner is written in the top margin of the back cover. Light to moderate aging on the back cover.
Record: VG++ to Mint(-) Visually the record shows slight wear with a number of surface rub marks on both sides. A few of the rub marks are slightly bolder, however, most are light and some seem close to brush-like rub marks. None of this marks are scratches. There are a very few clicks at the very beginning of Track 1, Side 2. These are barely audible (perhaps, there are 4 or 5). Elsewhere, there may be 3 or 4 clicks. All are light and practically inaudable. The balance of the record has no surface noise in spite of the described appearance. The overall sound is close to Mint. I have accounted for the appearance and slight noise described in the VG++ in the overall rating. Audibly checked.
