HonestDave is one of East Anglia's biggest collectors and sellers of good quality vinyl from the best era in pop music 1955 - 1971. Over the coming months, I will be offering for sale a very large quantity of mainstream Pop and Soul, Northern Soul and Motown singles, EP's and LP's. Some of these will be real finger burning rarities at high prices! I'm still buying myself for my own extensive collection (30,000+), and I use the respected Record Collector Magazine's Grading System for myself and for my Ebay sales. I do not sell items at less than their VERY GOOD level unless there is a good reason to do so. 95% of my items will be in EXCELLENT condition with a few at EX- or VG+, as I use those symbols to indicate something that I feel is between grades. All records will have been cleaned with professional solutions and then visually inspected under a bright light. Any that pass this test will then have been played on a good quality sound system. Please note these items are up to 55 years old and may have been stored without being played for many years. You should expect some minor background noise for the first few plays until any remaining ingrained dirt is removed by the needle. In any case, I feel that very minor background noise should be tolerated, as vinyl records sound much better with that built in than CD's which are too cold!

ALL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING TERMS OF SALE

1)     Because of my business committments (Ebay is a hobby only), I can only post once a week, usually on MONDAYS. To help fast despatch, payment needs to get to me by the Saturday. I leave feedback when I can, usually at weekends, but it may take a while before you see it.

2)     Payment is required within 10 days of the auction end. If you require more time to bid on other items, or are going away on holiday, and cannot pay for a while then just let me know. I will only get a bit peeved if you don't talk to me and then you might get a dispute situation after two weeks have passed.

3)     Allow ten days (fifteen for Europe and thirty days if you are further overseas) before asking where your item is. Our wonderful mail service has been known to send items marked Air Mail by ship! If the delay is eventually proved to be my fault, I will refund all the postage costs!

4)     All my items are 100% fully guaranteed. If a mistake has been made and an item is not as described, or is in any way unsatisfactory, don't rush to start a dispute situation or leave neutral or negative feedback. There is no need for that. In all cases where you are unhappy, all you need to do is send me an email, and you will be contacted. If you are then prepared to leave a positive feedback you will be REFUNDED IN FULL, INCLUDING ALL YOUR POSTAGE COSTS.

5)     Buyers who do leave poor feedback without just cause and without talking to me first will be immediately blocked from all my further auctions and may not be refunded at all.

6)     I never charge more than the Post Office requires, plus a small supplement for the professional mailing envelope (30p singles/45p albums). There is always a postal discount for multiple buys - see the details under post instructions. Larger amounts will be subject to a special deal, and regular buyers will be looked after.

All LP's and EP's come with original covers of course, and over 95% of the 45's will have the correct company sleeve for the disc. I will sell them in the original they came in if it is still in good enough condition or supply an exact reproduction one to the same specification if I have one in stock at the time the auction ends. I have made a study of these for years so you will get the correct one where possible. Otherwise replacement company sleeves for singles can sometimes be found at carboot sales in reasonable enough shape to be swopped or can be bought online from Doug Price, who prints them. THE RECORD(s)

A great rock'n'roll EP, now very rare, with Freddie Cannon (spelled with a Y on the disc) doing "Palisades Park", "Teen Queen Of The Week", "Wild Guy" and "For Me And My Gal". The vinyl is in great shape but is let down by the cover which has seen better days. It is intact, but has some ringmarking and rubbing around the edges, a small split (about 6mm) off the bottom right opening corner and has the name Bob Lusty and his address stamped on the rear, plus other writing, some of which has been badly crossed out in biro.  I could slay the people who did that! However, it is the only copy I have ever seen and all it needs is a new cover which may just turn up so because of this I will not bin it, as was my first instinct and try it at £18.00, graded Good Plus (halfway to Very Good as defined below). It is listed, Mint, at £50.00! It will only be sold to a sensible buyer who will accept it knowing the cover defects. It is ideal for restocking your jukebox or replacing a worn out copy. The disc should be ready to play, with little, if any background noise; there should be no pops, skips, or jumps, but please do see the conditions at the top of this page. If you don't like this record, keep watching my lists - there are literally thousands more still to come and among them are 400 really rare soul, Northern Soul and Motown records. Of course, they will cost more than the normal sales but boy, are they worth it!

I have been selling at record fairs and car boot sales for 30 years and am well known for being very fair. I do not like upset customers and so I am very strict with my condition gradings.

THE RECORD COLLECTOR QUALITY GRADES ARE:   reprinted here to assist everyone who buys rare discs as to what amount of wear and tear the disc, its sleeve and/or contents have been subjected to. The standard condition categories and their conditions are:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. I will not use this grade unless I can personally prove it has never been played or is still sealed.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.   The majority of my sales are at this grade.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. I will very occasionally sell a record at this grade. It will be clearly marked as such.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. I will very occasionally describe a record COVER as Good but only if I do not have a replacement. I DO NOT SELL VINYL AT THIS LOW A GRADE.

FAIR, POOR or BAD: These records have already been binned!
