Description
On offer here is a first pressing copy of Fire And Water by Free, released on the Pink Island label in 1970 catalogue number ILPS 9120.
A classic Rock album with great tracks, Fire And Water, Mr Big, Don't Say You Love Me and of course All Right Now (Long Version)
The unlaminated single sleeve cover made by MacNeill Press is in generally Excellent condition, there are some minor points of wear on the tips of the corners and a little light wear alnong the bottom edge. There is a small tear in opening edge and I have taken a photo of this, would be repairable. The spine is sound but with the "FR" of FREE worn. Otherwise the colours are bright and fresh with no stains or writing.
The vinyl has a few light marks from removal from the inner and a few light hairlines mostly on Side Two nothing penetrating. I have played this on my system (Michell Gyrodek SME Series IV arm Dynavector cartridge Naim Pre / Power amps and B & W Nautilus speakers) and it sounds great as all first pressings do, with some light crakle on run in on Side Two and a few clicks at the beginning of "Don't Say You Love Me". In between all the tracks is almost silent, but this is a 47 year old album. Generally I would class Side One as Excellent and Side Two as Very Good, using Record Collector gradings.
The Pink labels are in Excellent condition with some spindle marks. The matrix numbers are A1 / B1.
This is a classic and now a rare album (as most Pink Islands are) with a Mint value in Record Collector of £120, however because this is Not Mint it has a low starting price.
The record will be sent outside of it's sleeve in a polythene cover sandwiched between two 12" cardboard stiffeners. It will be sent in a heavy duty record Mailer made by Covers 33 and is used by many Mail Order Record shops.
