FIRE & WATER

First UK press ILPS 9120 Stereo recording

THE rarest and the hardest to locate especially in this sensational condition. This LP is the original and the earliest press with the mega rare soft, pink textured pink Island label format. The original first issue unlaminated album sleeve is in superb condition with the ultra rare pinched ends, confirming its first issue release. Impossible to find matrices A// -1 B//-1 and the first stampers 1 1 1 1  Vinyl appears stunning and is virtually unmarked after 38 years. Truly remarkable find and audio is beautifully delivered !

The original vintage release from 1970 Massively rare with soft textured pink I label format

Earliest matrix and earliest first pressed stampers A1  /  B1  and   1   /  1

First issue, MacNeill Press manufacture, single unlaminated sleeve in remarkable condition. Normally found heavily worn with massive ring wear. This sleeve is wonderful with no significant damage to report. Spinal column has the pinched ends confirming the very first issue sleeve and edge wear is minimal. Couple of mild creasing on outer faces . No fading on outer faces. Very rare to locate like this . Faint cut in opening edge which is not coming through completely. Has hand written name top left .Very carefully handled. Better than many Vg+ condition.

All pink Island label format in EX++/near mint- condition.Soft textured variant confirming THE very first label issue of this awesome release. Labels appear almost factory fresh with hardly a spider line visible. Beautiful visual against the jet black of the polished vinyl . Just a silvery hue around the central hole but make no mistake, beautifully maintained and impossible to locate in this hardly marked condition.

(Original plain white inner sleeve has some hand writing)

Vinyl

Early thick, heavyweight giant with hardly a surface mark visible . Only one hairline observed if angled against the light. Excellent++ visual . Surfaces reflect a mirror like glaze very similar to mint vinyl. Stunning example !May observe some fainter hairlines owing to sleeve removal brushing against the surfaces.

Audio

Tones are delivered with a mellow warmth. Includes the mega rare longer version of Alright Now , delivered in sensational style. This was instantly a hit single and raised the group’s entourage considerably and became one of the most notorious pop groups of that era commanding an audience of thousands and a massive following. Tones from this audio are extremely pronounced , delivered with a mellow warmth and a razor sharp edge, unlike the inferior later pressings that lack that loud cut punch .Excellent channels and considerably better in some parts. There may be the momentary odd static/crackle which must be born in mind when purchasing these old vintage classics. This is normally due to dirt/dust in the grooves where the vinyl has been lying dormant for many years. Regular cleaning will improve the audio even more over time..

Will prove difficult to match . A fine exhibit of this major rock/pop classic psyche.
