Description
Full-length LP from Pat Metheny/Ornette Coleman titled "Song X" released by Geffen Records (GHS 24096) in 1986. Original U.S. pressing. Collaborative effort from guitarist Pat Metheny and free jazz pioneer saxophonist Ornette Coleman. The eight tracks suggest a theme but are left wide open for participants (Charlie Haden on bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums and Denardo Coleman on drums/percussion) to play freely. All five musician improvise quite excellently without being overbearing or intrusive. Great stuff! Album cover is still in original shrink wrap.
