1st edition South African pressing on ultra rare green Parlophone label, catalogue number PCSJ 12049/Matrox YPEAX.1009/YPEAX.1010. There are very few copies of this pressing with the green label which makes it super collectable. The last time this came up on eBay in 2014 it sold for $2900.This is Freedom's Children's first album, recorded in 1968 in South Africa for EMI. This album has all the wonderful excesses of early progressive rock; the deep meaningful poetry, spoken words, majestic organ-playing, sound effects, choirs, long guitar solos, etc. Ramsay MacKay's unusual Scottish/South African accent guides us through this album of contrasts. From the country sounds of "Country Boy" to the Traffic-style rock of "Judas Queen," this album does not let up for a moment. It rocks, it soothes, it challenges, it even refreshes (thanks to the inclusion of an old Pepsi advertisement). A great album and a mind-blowing debut. Vinyl is in VG+ condition with just a handful of light surface scratches , it plays well although it is noisy at the beginning of tracks and in quiet musical passages: As with many of `60s South African releases there is signs of cellophane loss/shedding, this is due to the cellophane being put on too tightly. The spine is very readable although a little discoloured. There is some wear and tear in the opening-graded VG+.

Shipping- All vinyl records are packaged outside of the covers in new soft plastic anti static inner sleeves to avoid seam splits, wrapped in special protective material, placed between top and bottom LP sized cardboard sleeves and then packed in custom made vinyl boxes. All orders have Fragile stickers placed on both sides.
International airmail postage costs from South Africa to the rest of the world are high. Single LP`s cost $20, additional LP`s cost an extra $8 each. Standard Airmail Post does not have a tracking number, should you require a tracking number we suggest using either the SA Post Office`s EMS facility or a courier service, prices on request. NB Because of the rarity and value of this item it will only be sent via courier or registered mail depending on the country.

NEAR MINT : Record will look and play nearly as new.
EX+ : Record may have slight visual defects and have one or two very minor light scuffs which dont affect play
EX : Record has minor scuffs or may have one or two very slight marks, might play with one or two light pops or clicks
EX - : Record may have some slight scratches and one or two light marks but nothing too deep. Plays with slightest crackle in places or one or two quiet pops or clicks
VG+ : Record has light scratches and will have marks that sound but generally still sounding strong with a few clicks and pops.
VG : Record has scuff marks/scratches which effect play with many clicks and pops.
GOOD : Record has many marks and scratches and will effect play and sound terrible, record might be cracked and will be mentioned in listing.
