An original mono 1st press of FN on the UK Fontana label from 1966. Matrix 1/1. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an uncredited mono cover - consistent with very 1st issue. Also included is the original sleeve with patents pending. Note that the inner sleeve is date coded to April 1966 [046] just a couple of months prior to 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A storming rendition and I can't recall ever hearing better. Just lovely clean assured audio the whole way through. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I'm not kidding...I just can't imagine any other version delivering the audio the way this mono manages! I'll do my usual catch-all you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. But to all intents and purposes...FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) Lovely clean shiny front which does not appear to have been affected by ageing/fading. On the front, however, I can pick-out a couple of low-level indentations..perhaps names (pretty minor). The rear looks good to and seems to have avoided the usual ageing process which typically affects the LPs of this vintage. Please note someone has been a little bit 'creative' on the rear with a biro. The tracks appear to have been graded!..way ahead of it's time - ha! Also in the top left corner someone has dated the original purchase to August 1966 - just a couple weeks after 1st release..That's great provenance..! Edge wear is relatively light for this title and the spine seems to be 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing, but no splits or markings.
