Notes: Amazing cover tunes with heavy trombone from Fuko y sus Tesos of Colombia on Discos Fuentes! Though it’s described as a Murga, A is really a funky mix of cumbia, samba, and bomba, being a version of Pachapo’s “La Cumbia de Cucuta” with Piper Pimenta’s fantastic vocals bringing everything to fever pitch. Some fantastic timbales played in a carnival style. Side two is a HEAVY salsa with crazy brass and a “fire” theme. Nice version of old Cuban classic by Luis Santi y su Conjunto with Celio González.


Vinyl grading: Conservative grade at VG- but many people would put VG. Many visible marks and spots on surface. Looks worse than it sounds as with all Fuentes pressings. Side A plays with some noise while B plays with more noise but neither side is too noisy to play - in fact it's a great DJ copy - nice and loud and the pops & crackles do NOT overwhelm the music.
