Description
Thanks to the internet, Funeral Oration's "Communion" is still getting exposure, when, for many years, in the late 1980s, when out of print albums were being sold at inflated prices, this remarkable album nearly was lost in the oblivion of great bands long forgotten.
I first heard Funeral Oration on Berkeley California's college radio station "Maximum Rock'n'Roll" which played lots of uncensored and non-maintstream music. For about 10 years, I had this static reception radio recording of 5 Funeral Oration songs and had spent many years trying to find Communion.
Then, with the advent of the internet, I was able to, in 1998 or so, actually contact the singer of Funeral Oration who was very friendly and was even happier to discover that he had since written more albums.
This album is loud and intense punk. From Holland, the only other Dutch rival to Funeral Oration would be BGK. Like BGK's "Jonestown Aloha", the album is loud, intense, emotional, and filled with very philosophical lyrics.
The songs of Communion are screams of expression in a world that never seems to listen.
