Description
For sale is Funkadelic's Uncle Sam Wants You, originally released by Warner Brothers Records in 1979 as a promotional copy with a gold stamp on the front cover along with a full color gate-fold presentation. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched a six-pointed star and "AZ" along with a picture of a flower, followed by the matrix numbers LW-1/LW-1, indicating that the record was mastered at Allen Zentz Mastering of Hollywood, California by Brian Gardner, then the first stamper was used to make this first edition at Capitol Records' press- ing plant located in Los Angeles, California. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. Doing this has preserved the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may has come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as Near Mint Minus because of some very slight corner blunts and a hype sticker promoting the hit song "(not just) Knee Deep". The Vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint. I'm play grading it as Near Mint. This record has been played on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life left to it. This is the best copy of this album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard-pressed to find a promotional copy in this condition ever again.
