Description
Furry Lewis garnered more media attention than any other blues singer (this statement applies perhaps to the early blues artists who were later "rediscovered"). He played himself in a 1974 Burt Reynolds western, appeared on the Johnny Carson show, was profiled in Playboy, had a song written about her meeting with him by Joni Mitchell (which he hated). He lived to the ripe old age of 88 and his performing skills declined greatly with age. In this album Yazoo put together 14 of the 23 sides he recorded while in his prime - recorded in four separate sessions between 1927 and 1929. This is the original Yazoo release from 1975 with the red label. The condition is vinyl near mint; jacket EX/NM ( it only suffers from a little edge wear on the bottom - no where else).
