Description

Henri Constant Gabriel Pierné (Metz, le 16 août 1863 - Ploujean, le 17 juillet 1937) was a French pianist, organist and conductor. Studied at the Paris Conservatory with Albert Lavignac, Antoine François Marmontel, Émile Durand, César Franck et Jules Massenet . 1890, after  the dead of César Frank, he played the organ at the church Sainte-Clotilde since 1989. 1903 he is partner of Edouard Colonne, from 1910 to 1934 he is condutor of the Concerts Colonne, played many contemporary works of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Albert Roussel, Igor Stravinski.

3 records electric 10" French Columbia: Gabriel Pierné plays own work, Sonata de camera for piano, cello and flute op. 48, with Marcel Moyse flute and M. Lopez cello. Condition: 2-3. A scarce recording !

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible

4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible

5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
