AUDIOPHILE CLOSET CLEANING SALE. I WILL BE CLEANING OUT MANY ITEMS THAT HAVEN'T SEEN THE LIGHT OF DAY FOR YEARS. This is a rare audiophile recording by Gale Records that features performances of Schumann's Frauerenliebe und Leben and Brahm's Lieder (GALE GMFD1-76-006. This is the same Gale that made speakers in England. Perfromances are by Sheila Armstrong, soprano, and Martin Jones, piano. Truely an international offering.. It was recorded in England, pressed on high quality virgin vinyl in Germany, and imported to the U.S. by Audio Technica of Japan, .. whew! Gale records have been a fairly well kept secret in the audiophile world. They are outstanding recordings that are produced and packaged very much like the Mobile Fidelity UHQR's. It is a single record in a heavy black box just like the MFSL UHQR's, but they are not serial numbered. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they were only produced in the same 5000 quanitity or less since they are much harder to find than the MoFi records. There is no booklet, or inserts in this box. The record has a beautiful, shiney surface that looks like new, with no marks. It, like all the records I have up for auction, has been cleaned on a VPI 17 record cleaning machine. The box is in excellent condition with no splits or tears.
