Gamelan Son of Lion was a NYC chamber ensemble that performed court music of central Java on traditional Indonesian instruments. In addition, they also developed a unique repertoire of new music written by American composers for the gamelan. Six (6) amazing & beautiful works are featured on this very scarce and rarely offered 1979 Folkways release! Record is NEAR MINT+ (appears unplayed) condition & heavy jacket with wonderful illustrated (scores, etc.) booklet is NM. Highly recommended for anyone interested in avant-garde, electronic, experimental or improvised music, don’t miss it!
