Thanks for looking at my auction, this G.E.M. Dandy Hydraulic Record Cleaning Apparatus is in excellent condition I only used it once to clean 6 albums and found that it just not work for me so I decided to cut my losses and sell the machine, my loss is your gain.Description:
The G.E.M. Dandy Hydraulic Record Cleaning Appartus is simple, effective and economical. Cleaners that touch the LP with the force provided by vacuum can cause damage by flattening the lands, the delicate area that separates the grooves, distorting the information contained in the grooves. The inrush of air developed by a vacuum cleaner can dry an amount of the cleaning agent before it is removed leaving a reside behind. The inrush also dries the liquid along with the dirt on the pickup tube and can have the effect of sandpaper. Some cleaners reuse the cleaning fluid. The GEM Dandy touches the LP with clean water only - not contaminated water from a dip tank. The LP is mounted on a rotating mandrel to loosen the contaminates. A jet of water from an orifice is applied to the grooves at a angle that flushes away the debris. This is the only method that has a chance of recovering a flood damage LP.
