This Prestige release contains selections from previous sessions of these artists that were not able to be issued on their original LP, due to size restrictions for 33 1/3 vinyl. Featured are Gene Ammons, Etta Jones, Jack McDuff, Oliver Nelson, Clark Terry, Oliver Nelson, Red Holloway, George Barrow, Hobart Dotson, Bob Ashton, Eddie Diehl, Richard Wyands, Patty Bown, George Duvivier, Wendell Marshall, Billy English, Joe Dukes and Walter Perkins. Side A: LOVE, I’VE FOUND YOU, BUT NOT FOR ME, TOO MARVELOUS FOR WORDS, IF YOU ARE BUT A DREAM. Side B: SCRAM, BALLAD FOR BABY, COOL, COOL DADY. These were added when released on CD. This is a MONO recording.
I’ve graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as M-. There are no marks on either side of the vinyl and not wear in or around the spindle hole. The LP retains its original shine and luster. The record jacket shows no sign of wear. There is some very slight discoloration on the liner notes due to age.
