GENE VINCENT and his Blue Caps - 'BLUEJEAN BOP!'
Rare UK 1st Pressing. 1956... (The year Rock 'N' Roll was born!).
Capitol T 764. (Turquoise labels with silver text).
Sleeve is fully laminated (front and back), with crescent shaped flip-backs. Really clean and only light wear. There are a couple of very small areas which show chipped or missing lamination. I would grade this sleeve as a full EXCELLENT.
Because these 1950s UK sleeves are just SO fragile... most examples of this seminal title are ripped to bits, with chunks missing, creasing, writing and torn areas. This one has escaped the rigors of time with only a few minor flaws that prevent it from being EX+. Clearly very well cared for. It is 70 years old this year!
Cover lies beautifully flat with no seam splits. There is a small tear repair to the top right front opening edge area (see photo). The lamination (adhesive) has toned slightly, giving an ever so slight off-white appearance. Spine text is all there. Nice pinched corners too. Take a good look at all the detailed photos.
The vinyl is in VG+ to Excellent condition. There are a few light surface marks and a couple of non-feelable scuffs. Also a couple of needle drops, but all in all, a remarkably clean example of this definitive, early Rock 'N' Roll record. Plays through very well.
The turquoise and silver labels are in Excellent condition. They show very little use, or any sign of spindle wear. There is a 'R T' tax code embossed on side 2, near the spindle hole. This is a very scarce title to be found in the wild.
