Description
TITLE/ARTIST: Please continue to check out all current and future listings as everything from my personal collection will eventually come up for sale - 45's, Pic Sleeves, EP's and LP's from the '50's, '60's, and much, much more - all "oldies" and all in great condition! Here is another one of those really rare and hard to find late '50's LP`s by the legendary early R'n'R singer/songwriter, Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps, on the original, turquoise colored, Capitol Label from 1957. Vincent was injured in the same English taxi cab accident back in 1957 that killed his friend and colleague, Eddie Cochran (whom I've also listed an album of this week). Gene Vincent died way too early in life (1971) but is legendary for the R'n'R/Rockabilly music he left behind for us to enjoy. This was just his 2nd album release, is self-entitled, "Gene Vincent and The Blue Caps", and features twelve early rockabilly type songs from those early days of R'n'R. In addition to the record and jacket, this package also includes an early Capitol Records inner sleeve (see all 12 pictures above for song titles and more). LABEL INFO: This original, turquoise colored, Capitol Records Label (T811) is in MONO, and close to perfect with no real issues at all - I don't even see too many spindle lines around the center circle, which indicates to me that it had very light play. VINYL INFO: Likewise, the vinyl is also primarily shiny, clean, and nice with again, nothing in any serious need of any mention - although if one looks closely enough under a bright light there are some super light surface and/or paper lines - and I do mean super light. These are completely uneventful and do nothing to effect the sound or play of the album at all - nor it's appearance all that much either. JACKET INFO: Finally, the jacket is in very good, but certainly not perfect, condition. Both the front and back sides look very clean and nice, but there are some scuff marks along parts of both the top and bottom seam areas. In addition, some light ring wear is noticeable on the back side and there is a 5"-6" seam split in the top seam - although it is hardly noticeable either. And finally, there is a letter "S" stamped in the top corner of the back side only - perhaps by design from the record company itself. Most of these issues are visible in the pictures above, so check them all out. Personally, I would have to say that, except for these somewhat minor items I've mentioned, the all important front and back sides are in very good shape. INTERESTING FACTS: Yes, this rare and highly collectible late '50's LP by one of the truly special early rockabilly artists of that time, is in very good overall condition - so please have at it and continue to check this site for more great conditioned "oldies" from my personal collection. As I have already mentioned, over time I am selling off my entire collection, and there are 100's more to get to yet -- of all genre's, sizes, and varieties. Many of these still to be listed records are rare and hard to find, and most all of them are in near mint shape. So again, please bookmark my site and check it out from time to time. GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! If anyone ever needs more info than what is listed, please email me. I will respond! POSTAGE/HANDLING CHARGES: In the United States, the buyer agrees to pay $5.00 (Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation) for the first LP purchased, and then just $1.00 per LP after that-----so, buy in quantity and save. These are U.S. rates only, and all foreign winners will have to await an email me for their exact costs, although I will send a detailed invoice as soon as the auction is over---but, there too, it is cheaper to send multiple pieces. The charges for overseas are listed in the shipping category below--$23.00 for the 1st LP and then just $4.00 per LP after that. PLEASE NOTE: I take a great deal of pride in packaging all my mailings both safely and securely. However, I cannot be responsible for records that are lost or damaged by either US or overseas Postal Services. But, for additional fees, I will gladly ship the packages Priority Mail and/or add insurance! Please email me with either, or both, requests if this is of interest to you. Also, please continue to check out "rogersrecords" on ebay for future collectible records of all types. There are many more to come! browser does not support JavaScript.
