OK - BACK TO SOME GOOD COLLECTABLE 45s OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS - If you are looking for a totally unknown but musically great 'Northern' or 'Mod' soul record that will confound your club-goers and fill the floor, look no further! This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL LATE 1960s ERA U.S. FLEMING RECORDS PRIVATE PRESS 45 RPM RECORD containing the songs 'Fat Girl'/'Description Of Love' from The Generation Gap. It is Fleming Records catalog number 101, and is a GUARANTEED 1960s-ERA ORIGINAL, NOT A 'REPRO' REPRODUCTION AND NOT A 'COLLECTORS PRESSING'!! 'Fat Girl' is a totally obscure and unknown gem - Musical accompaniment is Memphis / Booker T-style, with Cropper style sparse guitar licks kicking off the song, Booker T-style Hammond organ, and fat bass lines - The song itself is a classic midtempo 'shag' style shuffler with lyrics extolling the virtues of fat girls, telling their boyfriends to feed them, fatten them up and keep them fat! I wish I had the capability to add sound bites here, if I did this record would probably sell in three figures. 'Description Of Love' has more of a late 1960s rock feel. Condition of record is VG++ with a few light surface marks which mostly show up only under strong light, cannot be felt, and do not affect play. Labels have a little bit of contact wear, no other real problems. For the price give this totally obscure and musically great 45 a shot, it would be a prime rare addition to any 'Northern' or 'mod' soul 45 record collection!
