There are about 150 copies of Foxtrot, in its various incarnations, on eBay today alone. First press blah, blah, blah; A1/B1 blah blah; what none of those 750 copies have though is the rare Genesis On Tour (with String Driven Thing) Supper’s Ready explanatory handout.

Apparently, these were given out gigs on the Foxtrot tour to explain what was going on when a man dressed as a giant daffodil, and clearly influenced by Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men, was singing Supper’s Ready. Under the circumstances, a magnanimous Genesis gesture, in my opinion.

This is offered exactly as I obtained it; I have not cobbled it together from three or four different items. See the photos - there's nothing to hide.

The sleeve is excellent and is one of the best I’ve seen – a really nice example of a sleeve that’s very prone to wear because of its textured finish. The orange/peach text is still clearly visible, vertically, on the spine. Much better than could reasonably be expected.

There are a few light hairlines here and there. I played Supper’s Ready today and it plays with light crackling in the quiet passages (again, to be reasonably expected on a 46-year old vinyl record). It doesn’t really matter, given the 1200 copies on eBay. It’s A1/B1, for those wondering.

If you want to hear it pristine playback I suggest a CD purchase or a brand new vinyl pressing and a brand new stylus.

Imagine my (and, hopefully, my loan shark’s) delight when the Supper's Ready leaflet fell from the sleeve.

First of all, it’s original. Its originality is obvious from its patination, smell, feel etc. I’m keeping it with the record because that’s how I found it. And they’ve clearly been kept together for decades.

It has obvious signs of age, including foxing and light rippling. There’s a tiny corner tear and a tiny pinhole through it. There is also a crease across it. And here’s the thing…when a hippy in 1972 folded it up and stuck it in his kaftan at the gig (because loon pants, if I remember correctly, which I don’t, didn’t have pockets) he wasn’t thinking “I’ll treat this piece of paper really carefully and wait until they invent eBay; then, in 46 years, I’ll cash in, because none of the other 2000 copies of Foxtrot on eBay on April 1st 2018 will have THIS included!”

And he was right. Even though he wasn’t thinking it. Or something…

The 'Supper's Ready' handout 1972/73. 

It is basically a B&W sheet (or brown and white) that is easily copied and I believe was copied later on. This can raise the uncertainty and lower the value. I think this is a way to tell the difference between the original and a copy:

- The print should be brown, not black or green. 
- The photo on the front should look like a photo. It should not be grainy at all.
- The paper should not seem like standard paper, it is a very soft paper typically used for older photographic copies of birth certificates, etc.

Weight of item + packing is over 700g.
