Description

A great opportunity to buy a copy of a RARE VINYL LP from the 60s by Genesis called "From Genesis To Revelation".

This was the group's debut LP and it is possibly one of the rarest Decca label albums ever made, as originally when it was released in March 1969, it sold in very small numbers. To find a FIRST PRESSING is an absolute must for any avid collector of late 60s Progressive Rock music.

Made in England and released in Decca's STEREO format (SKL 4990), it has a total of 13 tracks (see photos for track listings).

The matrix numbers are ZAL-8839 P-1W (side 1) and ZAL-8840 P-2W (side 2).

The vinyl is in a lovely shiny EXCELLENT condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there is hardly any indication the record has ever been played. I have played all of both sides and they play fine and sound SUPERB. I am really reluctant to describe it as NEAR-MINT because I simply cannot believe the vinyl is in such a lovely condition considering it is 48 years old!

The "unboxed Decca logo" labels are free from any writing, stickers or defects and there is only one spindle mark evident on each side when angled to the light.

The record is perfectly flat and has no warps of any description.

The record is housed in its original Decca poly-lined inner sleeve in an EXCELLENT condition.

There is also a lyric sheet (see photos) and this too is in an EXCELLENT condition. There is what appears to be a small speck on the lyrics of "In The Beginning" (see photo).

Unfortunately the front-laminated cover is not up to the standard of the vinyl and is only in what can best be described as a GOOD condition. There is a price sticker removal mark on the front and ring-wear evident on the front and back. The edges are still fairly strong and all of the text on the spine is still readable (difficult to photograph the spine).

On the back cover, there is the "peephole" where the blue inner sleeve shows through to signify a stereo record, as opposed to the red of a mono version. The bottom corner has some wear noticeable (see photo) and there is a very faint number written in the top corner.
