HERE WE HAVE A UK CHARISMA (CAS 1074) VERY FIRST PRESSING!!! OF GENESIS' CLASSIC 1973 LP, "Selling England By The Pound" IN VERY NICE CONDITION AND DELIVERING OUTSTANDING AUDIO!!!!
IT IS EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND AN ORIGINAL COPY OF THIS LP with THE EARLIEST PRESS A-1U/B-2U MATRIX WITH "PORKY RAY" (side one) & "PECKO" (side two) RUN OFF ETCHINGS and FIRST LARGE MAD HATTER LABELS ANYMORE!!! VERY SCARCE!!!
NOTE: THIS IS THE FIRST HATTER LABEL (B&C credit) WITH THE HATTERS HAND LEVEL WITH THE SPINDLE HOLE AND NOT THE LATER SMALLER HATTER LABEL. THE VINYL IS ALSO OF A MORE ROBUST, HEAVIER QUALITY THAN LATER PRESSINGS WITH DEEPER CUT GROOVES WHICH DELIVER A LOUDER CUT AND SUPERB AUDIO REPRODUCTION!!!!!
THE LP IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, FIRST ISSUE, MATTE SLEEVE "Printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford" (first press copy with B&C Records printed credit )
AND COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL DARK GREEN THICK CARD LYRIC INSERT (first press copies only - later lyric sheets were of a much thinner paper construction)

LABELS: The LARGE HATTER record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing and NO evident spindle marks!!!! The labels have the all important B&C credit "Manufactured and distributed by B&C Records Ltd" (see pics)
VINYL Visual: The first press THICK, CHUNKY vinyl lies perfectly flat on the turntable and both surfaces have their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN!!! Side Two is COMPLETELY UNMARKED!! Side One however, has a couple of marks but these have very minor audio consequence!! (see audio)
VINYL Audio: The audio is absolutely OUTSTANDING!! - CRYSTAL CLEAR, very strong and VIBRANT!! The marks on side one give a few clicks on "Firth Of Fifth" but nothing too major and the overall the sound quality is simply SUPERB!!! with NO groove-wear and NO distortion!!!! This LP has not been played that much!!! Sound really, really AMAZING!! Must be graded VERY GOOD++++ for audio (because of the light ticks but overall, much better!!). NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards!!!
SLEEVE: The 1st issue sleeve is in GREAT condition with very little wear to speak of. Light handling marks only!! Virtually NO wear to ANY of the edges!! EXCELLENT SLEEVE!!
LYRIC INSERT: The THICK CARD insert is NEAR MINT. Beautifully clean and fresh!!
