Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! Original 1st UK pressing of Genesis Tresspass album on the original 1st UK Charisma Pink Scroll labels.  This album was purchased from new and originally only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Features mega early Side 1. CAS 1020 A-2U Side 2 CAS 1020 B-2U Matrix Endings (Earliest Possible For this variation) Together with very thicker and heavy vinyl (only early 1st Uk pressings) This album is complete with the original 1st UK issue fully textured E.J.Day & Co Ltd gatefold cover in at least excellent condition if not better in my opinion! It is important to note that this album has many very quiet parts during the play and it is essential to have a very good vinyl to get the best audio experience. The audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at excellent plus Very Near Near Mint for the most part in my opinion! It is noted that I heard seven light clicks at the intro to side two which is probably cause by the needle been dropped at this point, although I can Not visably see any marks that would cause this. Any other interference/static heard was minimal in my opinion perhapes heard in isolated quiet places only.   Certainly the best sounding copy that I have heard astoundingly clear a vibrant very very rare like this! No other loud nasty constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Looks and sounds like it has only ever been played a handful of times!  This is complete with the original lyric sleeve inner and the plain white paper record sleeve in superb condition. Rarely seen complete in this top condition! Over 49 years old like this! Read the full full description below!

Trespass is the second studio album from the English rock band Genesis.

It was released in October 1970 on Charisma Records and is their last album with guitarist Anthony Phillips, and their only one with drummer John Mayhew.

Genesis turned professional in autumn 1969, and began to rehearse intensely and play live shows.

After several months of touring, including a residency at Ronnie Scott's, a club in the heart of Soho, London, they secured a recording contract with Charisma Records and entered Trident Studios in London in July 1970 to record Trespass.

The music marked a departure from more pop-oriented songs as displayed on their first album From Genesis to Revelation, towards folk-flavoured progressive rock.

This ranged from light acoustic pieces with multiple twelve-string guitars to the heavier live favourite "The Knife".

The cover was the first of several to be designed by Paul Whitehead, featuring a knife slashed across the cover.

Shortly after recording, Phillips decided to leave the group, which almost caused Genesis to split.

After discussions, they agreed to carry on, replacing Mayhew with Phil Collins.

Trespass was not a major success upon release; it failed to chart in the UK and the US and it received some mixed reviews from critics, but it was commercially successful in Belgium, which helped sustain the band's career. A reissue briefly charted the UK top 100 in 1984.

n August 1969, Genesis decided to become a professional band. The group founders, lead vocalist Peter Gabriel, guitarist Anthony Phillips, bassist Mike Rutherford and keyboardist Tony Banks had been joined by drummer John Silver.

They split from producer Jonathan King and decided to write more complex material than the straightforward pop on their first album. Gabriel later said "I think there was always inside of us a yearning to explore, to push the boundaries and to mix styles." The group bought new equipment including a bass guitar and a Hammond organ and recorded some songs in Regent Studios as a demo, including "White Mountain" and "Family" (which later became "Dusk"). Silver then left to study in the US.

The labels
The original 1st UK pressing label variation for this album pink scroll Charisma labels variation are in awesome condition! (These look superb in my opinion)! Amaizingly I struggle to see barely a hand full of spider marks/trails, even when angled to the light and of coarse little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round. This has only ever been played a handful of times only from new when I initially purchased it and one time to play grade for this listing. So rare for an album that is over 49 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable! Early UK pressings very rare in this condition!

The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superb! On initial visual inspection this looks superb and still retains its sheen from new! (please note this vinyl has only ever been played a few times by me personally and I originally played this to record to tape! In the last 49 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover to prevent ring ware and damage. This is how I have always stored my records, and of course I played this again to play grade at very loud volume on a top system! In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I find it hard notice any real surface marks or scratches. Any marks that could possible be seen when angled in strong light would be light whyspy surface sleeve removal type only.

The Audio Quality It is noted that this album features many very quiet places throughout and it is very very dificult to find a vinyl that produces lovely playback. Allowances must be made for this.
I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! WOW!, the moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has barely ever been played at all! The audio quality is as you would expect when purchased new, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! cristal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays truly superb. It is noted that I heard clicks at the intro to the 1st track on side two which was probably caused by a needle been dropped at this point but I do struggle to see any marks on the playing surface that caused this. Any other interference noted was again isolated in the form of minor static/ticks/crackle but nothing consistant throughout the audio. This is probably one of the best overall sounding copies that I have heard.
This is without a dought one of the best copies that I have ever heard of this variation! Just listen to the bass lines very vibrant and real clarity very nice to hear like this! This played through superb unbelievable audio seperation, that I haven't heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout! One of the most vibrant sounding audio copies that I have heard and early pressing makes all the difference! Even in between tracks this was generally lovely and quiet which is rare to find especially with this album. This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for over 45 years! This is the way I always have stores my records!  Even in between tracks this is very quiet! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl by this awesome rock band ''Genesis'' and so hard to find tlike this! Please check my completed listings of records that I have sold of this quality and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio  at least excellent plus to very near mint for the most part for the main audio (isolated interference noted above)

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! Allowances must be made for these early seventies genesis pressings. Please allow for the odd isolated static/ crackle/tick/light clicks that may be heard in quiet places or in between tracks, certainly not consistent throughout the audio. This is a genuine 49 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 49 year old system! Genuinly only barely ever played!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 48 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original plain white paper record sleeve, clean and straight. No splits or tears, light creasing fading yellowing with age only.

The Cover
The original 1st issue fully textured gatefold E.J.Day &co ltd cover. Note These covers very difficult to keep in good condition and being un laminated and flimsy by nature very prone to rubbing wear. Note: There are (no) edge splits or tears and amazingly no real creases worth to note.   The spine is generally lovely and square with very slight/minor flattening only. light rubbing is noticed if looked for only in my opinion but nothing too bad. Any browning with age , again is only notice at the spine if looked for. A truly superbe example rarely seen like this.! No nasty rubbing or ring wearon the front or rear in fact amazingly no nasty creases worth to mention. Any rubbing to mention is on the edges and at the spine edges but not noticed unless looked for in my opinion. The rear is exceptionally clean Any imperfections/rubbing edge creases, are not really noticed unless really looked for in my opinion. Must be at least Better than Excellent in my opinion rarely ever seen like this after 49 years old!
