GENESIS Trespass Rare UK LP Pink Scroll 1st Pressing, Charisma CAS 1020. 1970.

Up for sale here is a rare and complete first pressing of Genesis Trespass, on the Charisma Pink Scroll label with lyric inner sleeve.  The gatefold sleeve is the first, “full” raised textured design which is subtly different from later textured sleeves.  
 
Grading: -
 
Outer Sleeve: EX- to EX
 
The full (raised) textured gatefold sleeve is in EX- condition, but is extremely close to being graded as EX.  The front cover is beautifully clean and undamaged. 
There is some very minor wear to the edge of the spine and some light rubbing to the top and bottom edges, but none of which is particularly extensive.    There is a small area of discolouration on the rear in the bottom right (see photos) but again this is relatively minor in the overall scheme of things. This is a really great sleeve and so rare to find the  first full textured version of this sleeve is really great shape.
 
Vinyl (visual ) EX  Playback (EX to EX+)
 
The Vinyl is in EX condition. There are just a few light hairlines visible when held to light and one very slightly more pronounced hairline on side that is noticeable, but not particularly deep and the record plays through this without registering any appreciable additional surface noise.  It is a superb copy which plays through with vibrant, rich and undistorted tones and only minimal background noise (If you want a silent copy please buy a CD).

Side 2: CAS 1020 B-2U 1 GR
 
Labels: EX+
The Labels are in EX+ condition – perfectly clean. When viewed under a strong halogen light a number a small number of spindle lines can be seen.
 
Lyric Inner Sheet: EX-
 
The lyric inner is clean and in generally nice shape. There is just some extremely minor creasing and slight wear but it actually grades very close to EX and is a nice example.
 
Inner Sleeve: (generic) VG+
 
The original inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some general ageing (browning) of the sleeve and a  split on one seem.
 
Overall this is a really fantastic copy of a complete 1st press Pink Scroll original. The audio is dynamic and engaging and a real pleasure to listen to.
 
Postage and Packing:
 
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
