Description
Genie Pace had such a great voice. This is a 45 that’s quite hard to find. Only other one for sale currently is available on Discogs and is in inferior condition to this copy. I’ve been fortunate to run across one from time to time as I believe Genie was from the area of North Carolina where I now live. I’ve owned several copies of this record as well as here LP’s on both the Bright and Jade labels. All of them are fantastic - if you like torch music, that is. To boot, the flip side of this record is sung in Italian, which is probably due to Genie having close relatives who were Waldensian, a sect of religious Italian Protestant immigrants who migrated to the North Carolina mountains back in the late 1800’s to avoid religious persecution.
VINYL GRADE : VG++ to NM- (8 or better out of 10)
Nice clean condition. Please see the pictures here for a better idea of what the record actually looks like. Sound is very nice. Labels show well too… Overall, this is a nice record. The clip below was taken directly from the record for sale.
Direct from playback at 192kbs...
COVER GRADE :
Record ships in new sleeve.
This record will be cardboard padded on both sides, then custom boxed. Every box is taped well and marked fragile, double taped at corners.
PAYMENT :
PayPal please, it is preferred. If you have another form of payment you’d like to use, please send a message and I’ll see if I can accomodate your request.
International bidders :
*** PLEASE UNDERSTAND !!! ***
*** A FINAL BID DOES NOT ***
*** COVER YOUR IMPORT FEES! ***
I don't have a complete international import fee list, all buyers must do their own research specific to their country. The total amount must be paid before the buyer can receive the record. I have absolutely no control over fees, your country is to blame.
Please read all of this listing's details below before bidding. Every order is processed digitally, the shipping label affixed to the package will show the exact cost of the item. I am an honest seller and cannot alter the amount, so please do not ask me to do so.
GRADING:
I use Goldmine’s grading system and am quite conservative when assessing condition.
SS = Still Sealed
any defects will be listed and/or photographed to complete the description
NM- = Near Mint Minus
just short of perfect - acceptable defects would include a hairline mark not detectable to the touch and not affecting playback, background noise is nearly silent
VG++ (EX) = Very Good Plus Plus
most records I will list fall under this grade, just short of NM- but may have a mark or contact wear to the label to grade it slightly lower, maybe a drill hole or saw cut, maybe a mark or name written on the label lightly, sound is still great, loud and near perfect, cover may have slight edge or corner wear, maybe slight ring wear
VG+ = Very Good Plus
a great record, sound is high quality though may have a few pops or clicks, overall very nice looking vinyl possibly with light marks & scuffs, labels may have a name or mark on them, possible light contact wear to the label, covers may have a small split but not large or gaping, edge wear on cover may show more than slight, may be a mark on cover
VG = Very Good
only records I will list with this grade would be rather rare or of higher book value, meant to sell as a filler until a better record comes along, vinyl may have feel-able marks but should play through without skipping, pops or clicks may be louder than usual, may have marks or wear on the label, cover may have open splits, wear on print, may have marks or other very apparent defects (all will be stated in description either by type or in the pictures)
SHIPPING PROCESS AND PACKAGING :
All records are packaged tight for safe shipping. Vinyl is shipped outside the original sleeve in a separate, often new sleeve. I custom package every record with plenty of padding.
45’s will be cardboard padded on both sides, then wrapped in bubble, then custom boxed. Every box is taped well and marked fragile, double taped at corners.
LP’s are cardboard padded, wrapped in bubble wrap, then corners are gusseted with custom made pads. The records ship outside their covers and sleeves to prevent damage. A custom box is then built around this padded ‘record sandwich’. The resulting box is then taped well, marked fragile and double taped at corners.
78’s are first packaged between two pieces of 11” cardboard, taped well, then bubble wrapped. Additional bubble wrap is then laid out with void fill laid down, then the record sandwich followed by more void fill. This eventually makes a 4 to 5” bubblewrap ‘pillow’ which is then custom boxed, taped well, marked fragile and then double taped at the corners.
