A truly excellent condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press prog gem with the sparingly played vinyl and brilliant sound quality being true highlights

Increasingly rare and sought after 1971 UK 1st press prog gem with excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl (some would grade as "near mint", I am sure) -  gleaming, jet black sheen and earliest 1Y/2, 2Y/2 dead wax matrix pressing with barely any identifiable marks at all, even with close inspection under a bright light. Remarkable! Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played.  Crisp, clean excellent plus (EX+) condition labels with just a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails on each.  The non-laminated gatefold sleeve remains in overall very good plus (VG+) condition with firm edges and all colours, art work and text remaining crisp, clean, and impressively defined still. There are some minor blemishes, however : some light intermittent scuffing on the front side bottom edge and a 1cm light scuff in the middle of the top front side edge, some mild rubbing on the opening edge corners which nevertheless remain well defined right angles, and some light handling and storage marks on the inside of the gatefold including the occasional non-obvious fingerprint (possibly removable with care), some very light abrasions towards the edges, and some sporadic but clearly visible tiny "nicks" mostly towards the bottom edges - nothing serious but enough to merit a "VG+" grading and no better.  I have also just noticed the horizontally hand written name "Eric Wright" in black biro located at the top left corner on the front side - you will have to look hard to notice it but it is there!   The quality of the stereo audio is superb with no clicks, interference or background crackle - simply great tone and crystal clear instrumentation and vocals throughout with every track a great listen.  Comes complete with original great condition poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no side splits, tears, edge fraying or creasing and just some occasional very mild age discolouration towards the edges.

 A true Gentle Giant prog gem - a welcome addition to any serious rock vinyl collection!

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
