GENTLE GIANT - ACQUIRING THE TASTE
A barely played, wonderful condition and much sought after UK 1st press copy of this 1971 prog rock gem on the highly collectable Vertigo swirl label

The completely flat, gleaming vinyl is in truly impressive and near mint (NM) condition - in normal daylight the appearance of both sides of the vinyl is perfect, giving off it's original jet black sheen, and even with close inspection under a bright light all I can identify is just a couple of the faintest of faint wispy hairlines but really no more than you would expect from a brand new record. Clearly this record has been little played. Remarkable! Near mint (NM) labels - completely unmarked, with not even the usual one or two faint spindle trails. Pristine! The non-laminated and outer gatefold sleeve remains in excellent plus (EX+) condition. The edges remain rigid and unscuffed (there are just a couple of tiny "nicks" on the bottom edge and a couple more on the leading opening edge - each very trivial), the corners remain almost perfectly defined right angles with barely any rubbing at all, there is one tiny "nick" on the inside of the gatefold along with a couple of small and extremely light storage marks (again, trivial and purely superficial) and x4 1-2cm extremely faint surface "crinkles" emanating from the bottom edge (you will need to look hard to spot them); and all the colours, art work, text, and photos remain vibrant, beautifully intact and retain perfect definition. The audio quality remains near mint (NM) with no skips, jumps, repeats, clicks or background interference/crackle - simply superb sound quality with great tone and dynamic even at higher volume and frequency. Comes with original and excellent plus (EX+) condition and correctly dated poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no splits, tears or edge fraying - just some very mild "browning" towards a couple of the edges and some mild creasing in one corner.
Rare and sought after (especially in condition as truly impressive as this) 1971 original UK 1st press prog gem - a great listen and a "must" for any serious prog rock vinyl collection.

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
Note that for Italy I now use a courier (either Parcelforce, UPS or DPD) for shipping purposes, for a flat fee of £17 (that includes tracking and signature)

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :
Mint The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing
Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
